Ukraine is ranked 4th in terms of organic exports to the EU and is the number one exporter of organic millet.
As Director of Organic Standard Serhii Galashevsky told to Latifundist.com, ten years ago, organic grain exports accounted for up to 100% of all organic exports. Today, wheat accounts for 28.5% of organic exports, soybeans – 5%. The share of fresh and dried fruits is 5%, cereals and flour – 1.5%.
“I can say with pleasure that the share of processed products is growing,” said Mr. Galashevsky, concluding that having become an essential player in the organic EU market, in the future Ukraine can also compete for one of the leading positions in the global organic trade.
